Sclerotherapy procedure for spider veins | The Vein Guys board-certified vein specialists.

Sclerotherapy

Effective Treatment for Spider Veins

Sclerotherapy is a highly effective treatment for spider veins, improving both their appearance and symptoms. A sclerosant solution is injected into the vein using a very fine needle, causing the vein to collapse and fade over 4–6 weeks. The procedure takes 30–60 minutes, depending on the number of veins treated, and multiple sessions may be required for optimal results.

– Quick, in-office procedure
– No downtime—resume most activities immediately
– Compression stockings recommended for 5–7 days
– Avoid sun exposure, hot tubs, and swimming for 3 weeks

Types of Sclerotherapy

Traditional Sclerotherapy – This treatment has been used for over 100 years and has evolved with new, more effective solutions that cause less discomfort than older saline-based treatments.
Foam Sclerotherapy – Ideal for larger veins, this method creates a foam solution that better adheres to the vein walls, allowing for faster closure.
Ultrasound-Guided Sclerotherapy – Used for deep or hidden veins, this technique utilizes real-time ultrasound imaging to precisely target affected veins.

Venefit™ radiofrequency ablation device used in varicose vein treatment | The Vein Guys

Venefit™

Minimally Invasive Varicose Vein Treatment

The Venefit™ procedure (formerly VNUS Closure™) uses radiofrequency ablation (RFA) to close diseased veins, redirecting blood flow to healthier veins. This minimally invasive treatment is clinically proven to be more effective and less painful than traditional vein stripping or laser therapy.

– 15-minute in-office procedure
– Less pain & bruising than traditional treatments
– Return to normal activities within a day
– Two options: ClosureFAST™ Catheter or ClosureRFS™ Stylet

At The Vein Guys™, we maintain the highest standards of care and never use reprocessed catheters, ensuring the safest and most effective treatment for our patients.

VenaSeal™ vein closure procedure for varicose veins performed by The Vein Guys specialists.

VenaSeal™

The Most Advanced Non-Thermal Vein Closure

VenaSeal™ is the only non-thermal, non-tumescent, non-sclerosant vein closure system approved in the U.S. It uses a medical adhesive to seal diseased veins—without multiple needle sticks or anesthesia. This advanced technique results in minimal bruising and a faster recovery.

– No need for tumescent anesthesia
– Minimal-to-no bruising
– Immediate return to normal activities

During the procedure, a Vein Guys™ physician inserts a catheter into the vein using ultrasound guidance and applies a medical adhesive in precise locations along the vein. Compression is applied to ensure proper closure.

Note: VenaSeal™ is a self-pay procedure and may not be covered by insurance.
